About Curt Mason’sProject Habu :
Descended from a Lockheed Skunk Works engineer and a mediate school day science instructor , my childhood was constantly ring by aviation . Since before I can think , The SR-71 Blackbird was easily my favorite aircraft . I was so enthralled by the hurrying and elegant design of the shuttlecock . That excitement never really left me , even today . Every time I see a Blackbird in person , I feel like a child again , when my grandad would take me to the local landing strip to teach me about dissimilar aircraft .

after in my aliveness , I distinguish photography . Over the years , taking ikon has become my full time line . I ’d photographed a few SR-71 aircraft here and there and I decided to combine my passions and embark on a photo undertaking call “ Project Habu ” , an endeavor to photograph all thirty SR-71 Blackbirds and its variants left in the world . I will use Project Habu to chronicle my adventures and share this labor of love with the world .
And look at these photos , are n’t they goddamn beautiful ?
