Asus has apparently altered the underlying Linux kernel in their new and democratic eeePC . As per the Linux General Public License , they are command to supply the necessary source code for any such modification . pretend what ? They forgot to distribute the codification .
The controversy surrounds the asus_acpi module , which is used to manage the ironware interfaces of the eeePC . Perhaps this was just an ingenuous omission . Apparently not , according to the discoverer , Asus intentionally remove references to the alterations they made . The last exploiter are probably not going to kick up a fuss , but with this potentially being the good sell Linux laptop , ever , is it not a issue of time before someone pick out action ?
