These raw grapheme posters below were created by artistAlex Pardee , and if you take a look at the bunny painted atop the Sucker Punch girl ’s kill political machine , you could see he clearly left his mark there as well . We ’re entirely taken by the image of Carla Gugino as Mrs. Schulz the burlesque madame . All of these posters were being distribute on the Comic Con floor to a handful of golden attendees !
In other Sucker Punch news , after the Comic Con board we participated in a little roundtable with manager Zack Snyder and manufacturer Debbie Snyder . Which we implored him to sample and explicate some of the insanity we ’d see to it on covert that good afternoon .

Zack Snyder : I stargaze in a different way . I guess that ’s what our movie is about , for me anyway . one of the mechanisms of the motion-picture show , or the adjective parting of the movie , is that when one of the girls fantasizes or close her eyes , whatever you require to call it , their adventure parallels a little adventure they ’re doing in reality . Like , for instance , they need to steal a lighter that has dragon etch on it . It ’s the simplest matter ever . That ’s what they ’re really doing . Baby Doll ’s version of it is what you see , that ’s the movie — part of it . She close her eye , they go to another freakin ’ earth , they fight a dragon , they have a B-25 with a jet railway locomotive , they finally slit the child dragon ’s throat and then …
Debbie Snyder : Steal the fire .
Zack Snyder : Absolutely , they steal the fire . She ends up killing the dragon and when she do to , and the euphony ends , and that object has been steal because she has successfully distracted the somebody they needed to unhinge . There ’s like this kind of super - simple , aboveboard adjective part of it . But then there ’s like this insane , when she actually does fantasize , it ’s a fancy . I just use my own imagination as a template . So , yeah they do stargaze big .
How much of the movie is made up of those fantasies and how much of it is in the real domain ?
Debbie Snyder : There ’s four fantasies .
So , [ the photographic film ] is much more contract station in reality ?
Debbie Snyder : Well , there ’s kind of three levels of reality .
Like Inception ?
Zack Snyder : I think Inception had four levels of realism . So , we did n’t have quite as much money [ Laughs ] .
Debbie Snyder : Basically , the real world is book - ended almost like The Wizard of Oz . I always opine of it that way .
Zack Snyder : So , what ’s hap is that there ’s a jumbo tornado at the outset [ Laughs ] . But really , it is Word of God - ended .
And there ’s multiple levels of the fantasy ? Could you expand on that ?
Zack Snyder : Baby [ the independent lineament ] is practice to the harebrained asylum by her stepfather who wants her lobotomized so that she wo n’t be able-bodied to evidence or order the police what he ’s done to her . He pay the malefic orderly off and the guy rope ’s like , “ No trouble , but it ’s rifle to take me a little while because we do n’t have a doctor here that can do the prefrontal leucotomy . ” So , in five Clarence Day , the guy ’s arrive to do it and so in those five days she fare up with a design to escape because she want to get out before that occur . That ’s really , sort of , the story of the movie . That she can facilitate these girls and the other girls want to help her get out , because they want to get out . Like Nightmare on Elm Street ?
Zack Snyder : Yeah , exactly . But it ’s like one of the main rule of dream - seduce movies is that you have to , you know , “ If I die here , if I die in the Matrix , do I drop dead in real life story ? ” It ’s like , “ Yes , hunky-dory ? Well , that ’s a bummer . ”
Debbie Snyder : I recollect at the terminal of the twenty-four hours it ’s about , when things are so defective , where do you go , what do you do to escape that , how do you cope with that ? A mountain of times you ’ll see somewhere else , you want to be somewhere else and I think Baby Doll finds speciality , like she go to a unlike place and actually each time she seems to get a little bit more lastingness and a lilliputian bit more specialty .
Zack Snyder : Yeah , Scott Glenn is kind of like her Yoda .
How awesome is Scott Glenn ?
Zack Snyder : He ’s the most awesome someone on planet Earth . He ’ll say , “ Listen , Zack , I know we have to do ADR but I ’ve got ta go . I ’m flying out to Hawaii to go deep sea spear fishing , ” where he liberate plunk down like forty feet and kills these giant cryptical ocean tunny while shark are circle him . But not bullshit either , by the way , like I would severalise it as bullshit , but he ’s like , “ Oh yeah , and on the way back I got my newfangled leathers , my Ducati , and I got ta go see that out and I get ta go to Well Springs , just get my leather broken in and then I ’m gon na shoot some machine hired gun , ” and I ’m like okay , whatever , you ’re like the most awesome someone in the world .
He plays a Sensei or something like that ?
Zack Snyder : Sort of , because it all sort of folds back around on itself , in the end , you ’re like , “ Oh , okay , ” but yes , for practical determination he is Baby Doll ’s Yoda .
I really like the singularity of the flick ’s approach path . A granulose , trigger-happy , phantasy - based , mainly female person - driven story . Could you talk a niggling about how that theme do about and what character of consultation you hope to attract to ?
Zack Snyder : Well , I hope the film will appeal to , you know , everybody because I do n’t recollect that boy are give way to see the persona and be like , “ I do n’t require to watch that , it ’s about a crew of young lady with motorcar guns . ”

Zack Snyder : I do n’t recognise if I have a list , but I can tell you . Really for me it was just about , again , this whole dreaming concept of just like , “ why not ? ” I ’d say , “ No , it ’s a bigger mecha , and it ’s like the Samurai are ten feet tall , how about that ? How nerveless would that be ? Maybe one of the Samurai has a mini - gun and maybe one of the samurai has a rocket - catapult . ”
Maybe on the flip side of that what genres are n’t in this flick ?
Zack Snyder : Romantic Comedy . There ’s no westerly .
You guys have talked about the decision not to make the film in 3D. That seems like a really hard decision to get out with , because everyone seems to be getting pressured into 3D.
Zack Snyder : It had small bit to do with , for me anyway and for the movie itself , is that we do n’t want this moving picture to finger like it was made in a board way because it really was n’t . Warner Brothers has hand us an awful opportunity and they themselves did n’t want to wish cheapen that . I really think that .
Debbie Snyder : They look the first visuals and it really did n’t need it . We thought , “ This will smart us more than help us , ” and we really did not have faith that we could do it , especially after working on Guardians [ of Ga’hoole ] which is made in 3D.
Is that because you would want to shoot it in 3D ?
Zack Snyder : Yeah , it ’s just , once we ’ve been spoiled by this kind of baked in 3D that we created for Guardians where every bit of it is perfectly rendered , to kind of go and do a half - can like , this is how good it can be , because that is how you qualify it , it ’s like , it ’s cool , but if you fool it that fashion it would be means cooler . They were like , “ we can kind of get you a 3D vibration from the rebirth , ” but I was like , “ I do n’t want a 3D vibe . ”
Debbie Snyder : I think there ’s enough way not to do it out there and I suppose , to Warner ’s credit , they were really supportive in that they did n’t want to screw it up either .
I was look at some of the toy downstairs [ at the Comic Con convention]and there was a liberal mecha bunny rabbit , I ’m interested in hear what the significance is of the bunny is , to have its own toy .

Debbie Snyder : But also there ’s a import in the bunny . A lot of affair play in the different levels of reality . We strain to use pieces because , think about it , when you dream a lot of times it might not be a full picture and if you ’re stressed out about something you get pieces and little hints of things and that ’s what we want to do . So , the bunny is Baby Doll ’s baby ’s miniature that ’s on her bed , and there ’s something tragic that happens to her . I think it ’s very persistent .
Zack Snyder : But the mecha itself , it ’s just awesome .
