After a minor but impactful role on the latestStar Warsshow , The Acolyte , Dafne Keenjust showed up in the new trailer forDeadpool & Wolverine , repeat her role fromLogan . That ’s two big purpose in two big - meter franchise , with one major link besides release proximity : she had to lie about both of them .
ForThe Acolyte , Keen had to play like her Jedi Padawan , Jecki Lon , did n’t takethree lightsabers stabs to the chesthalfway through the serial . ForDeadpool & Wolverine , she could n’t even break she was in it . Until now .
“ I had a great fourth dimension keeping it secret , ” Keentold Entertainment Weekly . “ I had to do a bunch of press for a Book of Job [ The Acolyte ] that I just finish . I got asked in every audience , and I just got to lie , which was really funny . ” Keen said that to do that , she turned to an actor who , a few year back , became notorious fordoing the same thing . “ All the inspo comes from Andrew Garfield , ” Keen said . “ He is the master at this . ”

Keen actually said she got the call about returning to the role of X-23 after a full Clarence Shepard Day Jr. of film and stunt training , presumptively forThe Acolyte . She did n’t know her broker had been negotiating the mickle for a calendar month . “ I straightaway screamed , ” Keen state . “ I dropped my sound in the bath . I had to put it in rice ; it was a whole thing . ”
Of course , we do n’t yet know what role X-23 plays inDeadpool & Wolverinebut from the abbreviated reveal in the trailer , it certainly seems like she ’s become something of a wise man for this newfangled version of Logan . “ It was wonderful to get to amount back to [ the kinship between she and Logan ] and search that as a grownup , now realise parental craze so much more and bring that to the tabular array for her , ” Keen said . “ I found that Laura inLoganstumbled into having a dad and then having lost her papa , we get her again really knowing how to prize — and with this kind of wiseness to her — how much her male parent means to her . ”
