Finding out they were expecting last summer inspired the Fords totrade in their “little cabin"in Silver Lake for a family-friendly rental house near the ocean, which meant a new decorating project for the then-mom-to-be.
“I justwanted to make it look magical” without tackling a huge renovation while pregnant, Leanne, 37, explains to PEOPLE.

An Accidental Scene-Stealer
A scene-stealing gold Sputnik-style sconce fromBig Daddy’s Antiques, which Leanne calls “one of my secret weapons in L.A. for all things design,” is actually a clever solution to a lack of overhead lighting in the room.
“It’s on a dimmer and at night she loves staring at it. It’s pretty cute. She must have inherited that Interior Designer blood,” says the new mom .

Mom and Dad’s Love Story
The room’s sweetest feature covers nearly an entire wall behind the crib: the “love wall.” Leanne describes the ever-changing collage of keepsakes as “just a bunch of sappy things that” she and Erik, 35, “send to each other.”
“To look at it makes you happy. You realize what a nice life you have,” says Leanne.

One Girly-Girl Thing
“The rocker that we got is this blush leather, like a really dusty rose,” she says. “Ever is a lucky little lady.” The seat sits in front of a wall of baskets for storage and artworks and photos.
“Our artist friends are giving her pieces, which has been really fun and special,” she explains. “We hung a bunch in the nursery.”
