A Minnesota mother and her two children were fatally shot this weekend, and a suspect has been arrested.
On Saturday, D’Zondria D. Wallace and her 14-year-old daughter La’Porsha and son Ja’Corbie, 11, were found dead in their Saint Paul home, according to a news release.
Officers had responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting when they discovered the 30-year-old and her daughter dead. Ja’Corbie was unresponsive and transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Wallace’s uncle, Harold Johnson, recalled forKARE11the moment he found his loved ones.
“I saw my niece laying on the couch, like that, then I grabbed her and there was no response, so I ran out of the house and told my wife she needs to call 911,” he said. “My nephew was protecting his mama, that’s what he do, protect his mom…When I walked in the house he said, ‘Uncle help me.'”
Chief Todd Axtell called the scene inside the family’s home “hellish.”
“Tonight, we grieve—as police officers, as human beings, as members of the community,” Axtell said in a statement sharedon Facebook.
“She started to work, she moved into her own place, and began looking into schools,” her family wrote on aGoFundMe page. “D’Zondria had dreams of becoming a lawyer, and helping minorities in need. D’Zondria was beautiful, outgoing, full of life that wanted the best for her children. D’Zondria loved her children with her whole heart.”

On Sunday, police arrested 26-year-old TeKeith Svyone Jones at an apartment about four miles from where the shooting occurred, the news release states.
According to theTribune, police are investigating the murders as a possible act of domestic violence.
