Princess Leonorof Spain was all business on her 18th birthday — in the new go-to royal uniform!
The future queen of Spain wore a white suit toswear allegianceto the Spanish Constitution in Madrid on Tuesday, a significant step on her road to the throne as she turned the age of majority. The Princess of Asturias swept her hair into a low ponytail, providing a good look at her newly awarded government medals and the Collar of the Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Carlos III.
As she continues to define her royal style, Princess Leonor’s latest fashion statement took a nod from modern royal women — and is officially the new princess uniform. While previous generations of royal women rarely deviated from dresses and skirts (aside from her riding breeches,Queen Elizabethwas almost never photographed wearing pants during her record reign!), power suits are a fresh choice for modern royal duty. Princess Leonor’s mother, Queen Letizia, is also a fan of white suits! The Queen of Spain, 51, popped in her Carolina Herrera combo with a lace-trimmed top at a Princess of Asturias Foundation event at the Royal Palace in June.
Around the same time the previous summer, she sported the suit with a pale pink top to visit CREADE Refugees Center with First LadyDr. Jill Biden.
